Sarmania
Sarmania stands as one of the two oldest nations in the land. Formed over 5 thousand years ago first under the Great Dragon of Fire - Tiamat, the current pantheon has ruled continuously since the Titanomancy. At the head of the state there is none other than Her Irkallan Majesty, She Who Cast Down the Towers of Belkaria, Regent of all Shadows Cast, Eternal Voice of Divine Law, Possessor of the Crowns of Fallen Elam, Collector of Souls Departed, She Before Whom the Gates Bow, Slayer of Min, &ct. Ereshkigal. For the past two-thousand years Sarmania has grown, conquering the surrounding lands under Her Irkallan Majesty’s Rule. Now Sarmania stands as a large protectorate, a patchwork of satraps each headed by a triumvirate all of which include one of Ereshkigal’s chosen divine.
Sarmania has always been a conquering force, spreading from The Regent of all Shadows Cast’s capital of Ur-Nex, the Ten Divines have taken each of the smaller communities in the plains and enveloped them in to the empire. Each satrap consists of one of the Gods, a general in charge of military affairs and a governor in charge of civic affairs. The infighting is near constant. Each satrap tries to take the most for itself ignoring the needs of the surrounding communities, and within each triumvirate the shifting two-vs-one nature prevents long lasting plans. For Ereshkigal is prevents any true challenges to her power, and despite this disfunction, the nation manages to trundle onwards. From her sky fortress Ganzir, she watches her nation conquer and grow.
In recent years the other nations had begun to grow worried. The hundreds of years of challenges to the Lycian (Former Pontinate) colonies to the north was one thing, flaring up and down as the satraps to the north ebb and flow. Some even wondered if Ereshkigal wanted the colonies there to help control her population. But once Godsfall happened, the balance shifted. Shortly after the Pontinate gods were killed, Ereshikgal mobilized Ganzir and in a new level of atrocity slew Min, God of the Desert weakening Na-Keb’s hold on the border lands. Questions abound. It was always known that Gods cannot directly take action against other Gods, one of the conditions of the Titanomancy. Furthermore, Gods are not nearly as powerful outside of their seat of power. How had Erishkegal done this? Though there are a few Sarmanian ex-pats, some who know how Ganzir was constructed and how it works, no one seems to know the full picture.
The nations all wait with baited breath to see where Ganzir will appear next. Though the war with Na-Keb seems to have stopped, no one knows where Erishkegal’s gaze will land next, or if anyone can even stop her.
